The League "Leichtbier" Recipe Kit (All Grain)
This recipe is designed to be consistent with the BJCP style guide 5A – German Leichtbier.
Leichtbier is a recipe created for The League of Brewers by Jamie McQuillan of Cell Division Brewery.
German Leichtbier is a modern style, literally meaning ‘light beer’. It was originally marketed to the diet conscious as having lower carbohydrates, alcohol and calories. This might sound unappealing but think again because this German take on a light American lager brings more flavour and drinkability than you would expect. With on obvious and refreshing level of bitterness, despite the relatively low IBUs, and carrying noticeable malt and hop flavours, this bright, clean, pale straw-coloured lager will be perfect for a long afternoon’s drinking over the summer holiday season. Even better, enjoy it with a pretzel or some bratwurst fresh off the BBQ. Prost.

The League "Dr Faustus" - German Helles Lager - All Grain Kit 23l
This recipe was not specifically designed to be consistent with the BJCP style guides, but we believe it is similar to 04A - Munich Helles.
A not quite traditional German Helles lager brewed using Best Malz. This malt is newly available in New Zealand after centuries of production in Germany. Light and highly sessionable, perfect for a hot day.
We used some Hallertau Blanc to give it a subtle fruity twist - don't tell the Germans!
ABV: 5.0%
Our kits are fresh! We assemble the ingredients after you place your order. The grain bill will be milled, unless you tell us in your order comments that you prefer it not to be.
This recipe has been designed to use acid malt to reach the target mash pH. If you wish to use the recommended mineral additions to achieve the intended flavour profile, these are to be added to the boil only. This kit does not include the minerals, but these can be purchased separately.

The League "Greenbacker" Pale Ale - All Grain Kit
This recipe was not specifically designed to be consistent with the BJCP style guides, but we believe it is similar to 18B - American Pale Ale.
Our first beer we sold at our shop and it flew out the door. We kinda thought it would, since it's damn tasty. Originally brewed with big load of freshly picked Nelson Sauvin, we believe this kit with hop pellets that are available year round will be equally tasty. Give it a try and see if you agree!
Our kits are fresh! We assemble the ingredients after you place your order. The grain bill will be milled, unless you tell us in your order comments that you prefer it not to be.

The League "SMASHadelic" - SMASH IPA Recipe Kit (All Grain)
This recipe has been designed to be consistent with the 2021 BJCP Style guide 21A - American IPA.
SMASHadelic is a Single Malt And Single Hop IPA recipe designed for The League of Brewers by Jamie McQuillan of Cell Division Brewery.
SMASH IPAs are an ideal way to get to know the character of a hop, so we thought what better way to celebrate the recent release of New Zealand Hops’ exciting new variety Superdelic™. This recipe allows the hop’s unique oil character to shine by incorporating just enough supporting malt character from Maris Otter, with a clean crisp fermentation profile.
Coming in at 6.6% abv, this recipe provides the perfect backdrop for experiencing the range of flavours and aromas of red fruit, candy, citrus and tropical fruit, characteristic of this new hop. So go on, grab yourself a kit and smash it out of the park.

The League "Sunshine of Your Love" - Cream Ale Recipe Kit (All Grain)
This recipe has been designed to be consistent with the 2021 BJCP Style guide 01C - Cream Ale.
Sunshine of your Love is a cream ale designed for The League of Brewers by Jamie McQuillan of Cell Division Brewery.
The sun is shining fiercely, it’s hot as hell and you have sweat running down your back after mowing the lawns. What is better than a classic lawnmower beer such as a cream ale? An easy drinking ale, well attenuated and refreshing with more character than typical American lagers.
This beer is all about balance, being subtle and restrained with med-low bitterness and low malt sweetness. Coming in at 5.0% abv, it’s light and crisp, with maize and sugar to lighten the body and soft spicy (herbal and floral) notes from the Willamette hops. High levels of carbonation will make it super refreshing. Suggested music pairing: Cream, Sunshine of your Love.

The League "Fair Dinkum" - Australian Sparkling Ale Recipe Kit (All Grain)
This recipe has been designed to be consistent with the 2021 BJCP Style guide 12B - Australian Sparkling Ale.
Fair Dinkum is an Australian Sparkling Ale designed for The League of Brewers by Jamie McQuillan of Cell Division Brewery.
As a trans-tasman version of the style, this recipe was created using all New Zealand ingredients. Notably, Pacific Jade hops replace the more commonly used Australian grown Pride of Ringwood hop. This beer adheres closely to the style guidelines though, and those familiar with Cooper’s Sparkling Ale (brewed since 1862) shouldn’t be disappointed by this modern interpretation from across the ditch. With an initial sweet, bready impression, it is highly attenuated and dry with a robust balancing bitterness. Fruity esters reminiscent of pomme fruit give way to notes of citrus, which along with high levels of carbonation, add to a crisp refreshing finish.
Our Australian buddies might well try to claim the pavlova as their own, but with this recipe you can claim Fair Dinkum as your own perfect summer quaffer.

The League "Devilicious" - Belgian Golden Strong Ale Recipe Kit (All Grain)
This recipe uses some ingredients that are not included and must be sourced locally - demerara sugar. See the recipe for details.
This recipe has been designed to be consistent with the 2015 BJCP Style guide 25C - Belgian Golden Strong Ale
Devilicious is a Belgian Golden Strong Ale recipe designed for The League of Brewers by Jamie McQuillan of Cell Division Brewery. The Trappist monks might well have been naughty devils coming up with such a spectacularly easy drinking beer for the abv, but we’re not complaining. Typical of the style, this recipe is built upon Pilsner malt, but also includes a touch of chit malt to encourage head formation, with the added bonus of improving your mash efficiency. But don’t blame us if the latter part works extra well!

The League "Pieter Pieter" - Belgian Pale Ale Recipe Kit (All Grain)
Pieter Pieter is a Belgian Pale Ale recipe designed for The League of Brewers by Jamie McQuillan of Cell Division Brewery. This beer is intended to be an easy drinking soft and fruity Belgian ale. It sits firmly on the paler end of the style spectrum, with bready notes, restrained caramel, balanced bittering and a respectable abv of 5.5%. Lovely East Kent Goldings hops play a supporting role with earthy, spicy and floral notes while the Belgian abbey ale yeast lends soft approachable fruity esters and low phenolics along with excellent clarity in the finished beer.
