  2. Gelatin (non flavoured) for finings - 125g
    $8.30

Gelatin (non flavoured) for finings - 125g

Non-flavoured and non-coloured household gelatin, used to improve clarity of beer. Will also remove unwanted compounds resulting in smoother flavour. Sufficient for 500litres.

For advice on how to use gelatin effectively for home-brewing, we recommend checking out John Palmer's "How to Brew" website as he has some easy to follow instructions there.
  3. Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom Salt) – bulk 200g Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom Salt) – bulk 200g
    $3.90

Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom Salt) – bulk 200g

    Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom salts)

Used in water chemistry adjustment for brewing. Magnesium Sulphate provides Sulphates to the water without increasing Calcium.
Usually not recommended to go above 30ppm.
  4. Lactic Acid 100ml
    $8.00

    Lactic Acid 100ml

This food grade Lactic Acid is used in beer brewing to lower the mash or sparge pH, and this helps to reduce tannins. It has an 88% concentration. Size: 100ml Format: liquid
  5. Yeast nutrient (50g) bulk Yeast nutrient (50g) bulk
    $4.00

    Yeast nutrient (50g) bulk

Yeast nutrient (50g) bulk - The blend contains nutrients and minerals which include: Zinc, Phosphorous, Potassium and Manganese.

Yeast health is vital to the production of cleanly fermented beverages. Yeast nutrient is commonly used in many types of fermentation to ensure that the yeast has a good supply of vital nutrients and minerals.
  6. Calcium Chloride - bulk (200g) Calcium Chloride - bulk (200g)
    $4.50

    Calcium Chloride - bulk (200g)

Calcium Chloride is used in de-mineralized or soft to medium hard water to increase permanent hardness. Used as directed, Calcium Chloride is effective in eliminating the variations in composition often encountered in water from surface sources. It will help establish proper pH of the mash and the wort and provide sufficient calcium ions essential for enzyme function, kettle protein coagulation and yeast metabolism.
  7. Mangrove Jack's Dry Enzyme Sachet 3g
    $1.80

Mangrove Jack's Dry Enzyme Sachet 3g

Used for making drier, lower carb beer styles. Add with the yeast to break down more of the malt sugars which allows the yeast to ferment them for a lower carb, drier beer. This enzyme may extend fermentation time so ensure the specific gravity is stable for 3 days prior to bottling.
  8. Calcium Carbonate (bulk) 200g Calcium Carbonate (bulk) 200g
    $5.90

    Calcium Carbonate (bulk) 200g

Because of its limited solubility Calcium Carbonate is only effective when added directly to the mash. Use for making dark beers in areas of soft water. Calcium Carbonate raises pH.
  9. Williams Warn Clarification Agent / BREWCLEAR 1Litre
    $35.00

Williams Warn Clarification Agent / BREWCLEAR 1Litre

WilliamsWarn Clarification Agent / BREWCLEAR works very well to sediment most yeast strains as well as remove protein haze (in beer). In WilliamsWarn Personal Breweries we perform a 2-step clarification over 2 days, once the beverage is cold. We first add 30ml to the cold beverage and mix for 10 seconds vigorously (by forcing CO2 into the beverage which avoids oxidising the product). We wait 1 day and and this sediments most of the yeast. We then add another 20ml and mix again (without disturbing the already settled sediment) and wait another 1 and a half days. The agent then has less yeast to work on in the second clarification, brings down any remaining yeast and reacts well with any proteins that may cause haze, especially in beer. The result is a crystal clear beverage in 2 1/2 days total clarification time. For beers, the colder the beer the more protein haze will come out of solution and react with the agent. It is an inert product suitable for vegans and a product commonly used in breweries. You may find you can clear your products in one step and with less volume of agent. A 1 litre bottle will at least be enough supply for 20 brews.
