Home Brewer Water Analysis Report
Get your brewing water tested at a laboratory. The first step to water modifications is to know your brewing water.
If you buy this report, we ship to you the sample containers, pre-paid freight to your closest laboratory (Hamilton, Blenheim or Christchurch), instructions, ice packs and a polystyrene shipping box to keep your sample cold during transport.
Completed test results are emailed back to you once available.
We believe this is currently the only affordable laboratory grade water test aimed at home brewers in New Zealand.
Your sample is being tested for the following parameters:
Calcium
Magnesium
Sodium
Chloride
Sulphate
Total Hardness
Total Alkalinity
pH
The optional add on report uses the data from your laboratory water report to give you tailored advice on how to modify your water for a variety of beer styles.
This is highly recommended unless you know how to interpret & use water analysis data.

Stick-on Thermometer strip
Stick-on Thermometer strip graded from 10 degrees C to 40 degrees C. Can be stuck to the outside of any fermenter to give an indication of the temperature of the liquid inside.
We find these are quite reliable but it is always a good idea to test the calibration of any thermometer from time to time. For these stick-on versions, we recommend doing this especially as it gets older or if it is exposed to excessive heat such as hot cleaning water. -
Hydrometer, 3 scale
A brewing hydrometer is a very useful tool for any kind of fermentation. By tracking starting gravity and finishing gravity, you will be able to establish the level of alcohol that has been produced. This is also very helpful when trying to identify if fermentation is complete, which is very important to establish before bottling if you wish to avoid bottle-bombs.
This hydrometer is ideal for wine-making, beer-brewing and cider-making. It includes three scales, allowing you to read specific gravity, potential alcohol, and grams per litre of sugar. The Specific gravity scale is 0.76 - 1.150.

Hydrometer trial jar - 200ml one piece plastic
Hydrometer jar - one piece alcohol resistant plastic.
The main tube is approximately 25cm tall, and it has a graded scale from 20ml to 210ml in 2ml increments, as well as a fluid ounce scale from 1 to 7 in 1oz increments. The diameter of the base is approximately 8cm. -
Glass trial jar - 100ml
Glass trial jar - 100ml. Suitable for hydrometer readings.
Has a graded scale allowing you to measure volumes of liquid from 10ml to 100ml in 1ml increments. The main tube is approximately 21.8cm deep, and it has a lipped edge to assist with pouring liquids out. Diameter of the base is approximately 5.5cm. -
Plastic trial jar - two-piece
Plastic trial jar - two-piece for easy cleaning. Suitable for hydrometer readings.
Once assembled, the main tube is approximately 26.5cms in length. The red base is over 9cms in diameter which makes it more stable than other trial jars with a smaller base. -
Plastic Jug - 3L
Sometimes a 1L jug is too small and a 5L jug is too big. For these occasions, often a 3L jug is just what you need. This one comes with a sturdy handle and a graded scale on the side so you can use it to measure out smaller quantities too. -
Plastic Jug - 5L
No home brewery is complete without a durable 5L jug. This is the only size jug we stock which holds 5L. It has a sturdy handle and has a graded scale on the side to allow you to measure out different volumes of liquid.
