The League "Rocky" - Westcoast IPA All Grain Kit 23l

This recipe was not specifically designed to be consistent with the BJCP style guides, but we believe it is similar to 21A - American IPA.

If you miss a proper IPA with good bitterness in today's flood of hazy - this is it. You get a big punch (it's Rocky after all) of citrus & tropical fruit flavours from Simcoe & Mosaic with a light dry malt base to let the hops shine.

    ABV: 6.7%

Our kits are fresh! We assemble the ingredients after you place your order. The grain bill will be milled, unless you tell us in your order comments that you prefer it not to be.

This recipe has been designed to use acid malt to reach the target mash pH. If you wish to use the recommended mineral additions to achieve the intended flavour profile, these are to be added to the boil only. This kit does not include the minerals, but these can be purchased separately.

The League "40 Days" - Rye IPA All Grain Kit 23l

This recipe was not specifically designed to be consistent with the BJCP style guides, but we believe it is similar to 21B - Specialty IPA - Rye IPA.

40 Days is another one of our quarantine (ever wonder where that word comes from?) brews, giving us hop heads a little bit of spicy joy this winter.

An all Gladfield malt base with a good amount of three different types of rye malt for that little difference. When did you brew your last rye IPA?
We went with a massive dose of all American on the hops, a mix of citrusy, piney classics (Amarillo, Centennial, Columbus) with an added tropical dimension (Ekuanot). Fermented with a classic West coast ale yeast.

The League "Patriot" - New England IPA (NEIPA) All Grain Kit 23L

This recipe was not specifically designed to be consistent with the BJCP style guides, but we believe it is similar to 21B - Specialty IPA - NE IPA.

Designed to maximise the haze in your juice - or is that the juice in your haze?

Patriot uses all-american trio of hops, being Citra, Mosaic and Eukanot. The recipe has no boil additions, instead relying on a 100g 30-minute whirlpool addition followed by a 7-day and 5-day dry hop addition of 100g each.

With rolled oats and raw wheat in the mash, you can be sure all this juice is sitting on top of a hazy full-bodied mouthfeel. And with a sessionable 4.7% ABV, it's the perfect drop for a sunny afternoon spent watching the ball game.

    ABV: 4.7%

  6. The League "Last Orders" - English IPA Recipe Kit (All Grain)
    $78.00

The League "Last Orders" - English IPA Recipe Kit (All Grain)

This recipe has been designed to be consistent with the 2021 BJCP Style guide 12C - English IPA.

Last orders is a recipe created for The League of Brewers by Jamie McQuillan of Cell Division Brewery.

The English IPA has its roots in the 1700s as a highly hopped stock ale shipped to India, and the modern version of this style is based on a re-imagining of the style by craft breweries in the 1980s.

You should expect a moderately-strong, very well-attenuated pale British ale with a dry finish, hoppy aroma and flavour, and a firm bitterness. This version is built upon a classic malt bill of Marris Otter, and cushioned with a touch of biscuit, crystal and dextrin (Gladiator) malts, bringing body and balancing the malt without lingering sweetness. Firmly bittered with British target hops, followed by generous later additions of the earthy and floral Fuggles and East Kent Golding hops, this pale amber English IPA is perfect for those seeking an IPA that is not just all about the hops, but rather a restorative drinking experience with a little extra to chew on. Cheers.

  7. The League "Twenty Thousand Leagues" - Black IPA Recipe Kit (All Grain)
    $81.50

The League "Twenty Thousand Leagues" - Black IPA Recipe Kit (All Grain)

This recipe has been designed to be consistent with the 2021 BJCP Style guide 21B Specialty IPA: Black IPA.

Twenty Thousand Leagues is a Black IPA recipe brought back from the deep dark depths of time by Jamie McQuillan. With a few little tweaks along the way this recipe remains true to style, falling under the category of Specialty IPAs 21B. In Jamie’s hands, this beer took out a silver medal at the SOBA National Homebrew Competition in 2014.

It drinks as a Black IPA should. A judicious use of crystal malt and bitterless Eclipse Wheat give the beer its dark colouring, while allowing the resinous, piney, citrus and mango hop characters to shine through. The hop flavours are gently supported by undertones of chocolate and coffee without any of the harsher, toasted notes typically associated with roasted barley found in many dark beers.

As we dive into the cold winter months, this beer is the perfect remedy for lovers of a good hoppy west coast IPA who are seeking something a little more suited to fireside drinking. Cheers.

The League "Mother of Invention" - Hazy IPA All Grain Kit 23l

    2 Review(s)

This recipe was not specifically designed to be consistent with the BJCP style guides, but we believe it is similar to 21B - Specialty IPA - NE IPA.

This limited edition recipe was originally the second in our new "Lallemand edition" series - sponsored by Lallemand and Gladfield! It proved so popular that we sold out so we've decided to keep it going without the free yeast (sorry!).

This recipe uses all Gladfield malt, including the new chit malt and golden naked oats as well as our favourite hazy yeast "Verdant".

"Mother of Invention" showcases two new hops we got in: Talus and Zappa! With the help of Mosaic you'll get a delicious tropical hazy that's also thought provoking and unique (Talus has descriptors like citrus, flowers, and wood... with grapefruit, stone fruit, oak, coconut, and pine - and then there's Zappa with Passionfruit, mint, spice, tropical fruits, and fruity pebbles). The perfect beer to pour a pint of and listen to some of Frank's finest.

    Target ABV: 6.6%

  10. The League "Cold As Ice" - Cold IPA
    New
    $86.00

The League "Cold As Ice" - Cold IPA

Cold As Ice is a recipe created for The League of Brewers by Jamie McQuillan of Cell Division Brewery, keeping firmly in mind Wayfinder’s description of what a cold IPA (“the anti-thesis of a NEIPA’) should be and how they should ideally be made. This recipe also draws upon his own drinking experience (the best part right?) and a preference for the hop character of a classic dank west coat IPA. The resulting beer is a showcase of an awesome trio of hops (Simcoe, Centennial and Amarillo) delivering punchy pine and citrusy grapefruit notes.

Typically, cold IPAs are brewed with an adjunct lager malt bill as the base, helping to produce a crisp dry finish perfect for showcasing the hops. For simplicity, removing the need to pre-process the unmalted grains, this recipe utilises dextrose (corn sugar) to the same effect.

Pouring a straw colour, fermented clean with a lager yeast at restrained temperatures and packed full of whirlpool and dry hop aroma, Cold As Ice finishes with a firm bitterness that should satisfy any drinker who appreciates both lagers and IPAs.
