Coriander seeds are commonly used in distilling gin as part of a botanical mix with juniper, citrus and sometimes liquorice. It can also be used as part of a beer recipe, namely Belgian wits, saisons and goses in which the coriander seed imparts sharp citrus flavours.

Juniper berries give off fresh, woodsy notes with a subtle fruity citrus flavour and hint of spice. A principle ingredient in gin recipes, they can also be used in beer recipes to impart their flavours and aromas.
