Spalt Hops is an aroma variety and has a low alpha acid content at 4.0%-5.0% with a 1:1 alpha beta ratio. This prolific variety is among the noble varieties due to its low co-humulone content and resembles Tettnanger. Spalt has abundance in all of the essential oils including farnesene which is barely traceable in many hop varieties. Fuggle (UK) Hops - Pellets
Fuggle was first noticed growing "wild" in the hop garden of George Stace Moore's house at Horsmonden in Kent, England in 1861. In 1875 it was introduced by Richard Fuggle who lived in the village of Brenchley (not far from Horsmonden) and hence it was called Fuggle. The aroma is earthier and less sweet than Kent Goldings.
