Due to SODIUM METABISULPHITE acting as a sterilizer and an antioxidant, it is used in almost all commercial productions of beer and wine. By adding small amounts to the pressed juice, it will kill any moulds that are already resistant to alcohol. It also prevents oxidation, which keeps the flavour of the beverage.
SODIUM METABISULPHITE antibacterial nature makes it useful in the process of purifying water. This can be applied to the cleaning of water pipes and in desalinisation equipment such as reverse osmosis membranes.
Due to these antibacterial and antioxidation properties, SODIUM METABISULPHITE is frequently used to preserve dried foods, canned goods, corn syrup and fruit concentrates. This allows the food to keep for much longer, and prevents discolouration and mould.

This 8L keg is light weight, compact and has high oxygen barrier properties with 3x better(less) gas transmission than traditional PET grades of plastic making it suitable for beer storage or other oxygen sensitive carbonated and non-carbonated beverages.
A brand new 1.3L brown PET rigger, with a lid. Approximately 17 of these are required to bottle a 21L batch.
The shape of the bottom of PET riggers is quite effective at retaining sediment, making it easier to pour more of the beer in the bottle into your glass before it gets cloudy.
