The only 100% New Zealand owned home-distilling company. Originating in Wellington, production is now based in Christchurch, and the business is run from Auckland.

The Essencia System

Ferment: Super 6 Ultra Pure Yeast

Essencia Super 6 Ultra-Pure is a fully-stackable distiller's yeast used to produce premium, odour-free alcohol. It thrives in a wide temperature range of 15-35°C. With just 6kg of sugar, it generates a wash with 13-17% ABV within 5-7 days.

Distill: Essencia Express Copper Reflux and Pot Condenser Kit

Introducing the new pro-grade Essencia Express Reflux and Pot Condenser—faster, more versatile, and easier to use than any other condenser on the market. This advanced unit can reflux a 25L wash to 94% pure alcohol in under 2.5 hours with the 3kW boiler (3.5 hr with 2kW), achieving an impressive 94% ABV. It easily converts into a copper pot still without needing separate parts for stripping and spirit runs.

Filter: Essencia Carbon Filter System

Fast-age for the smoothest spirit without messy carbon. This system is a multi-stage filtration unit with large ceramic and peat carbon cartridges. The large Carbon Filter Cartridge treats 45L of 40% ethanol, removing congeners like acetaldehyde and methanol. The large Ceramic/carbon Filter Cartridge treats 250L (50 batches), removing bacteria, cysts, chlorine, pesticides, and metals.

Flavour and Age: Essencia essences and genuine barrel chunks

Essencia's authentic essences taste better because they are created using only the highest quality distilled flavour essences from around the world.   Essencia Ezibase ® is pure and smooth, allowing you to customise your creations to your own taste.

Essencia Barrel Chunks are made from freshly-emptied spirit barrels, enabling you produce the most authentic distiller's spirit at home. Made from genuine deeply-charred spirit-soaked American oak barrels that have aged spirit for 4-10 years. These chunks enhance rapid flavour-infusion due to the unique Essencia process which opens the spirit-soaked oak and retains the charred barrel interior.
