Haymaker Saison is a recipe designed for The League of Brewers by Jamie McQuillan of Cell Division Brewery. To find out more about brewing saisons you might like to read his article, For the Love of Saisons, which you can find on The League’s blog.

Saisons are hugely variable as a style. This one is pale, bright and designed to be particularly thirst quenching with a deceptively low 5.7% abv. The recipe is built on a classic and simple farmhouse grain bill of pilsner malt, wheat malt and just enough crystal malt for colour without cloying sweetness. East Kent Goldings and Saaz hops bring earthy, spicy, herbal and floral notes with just a touch of honey. Fermented bone dry with Safale Be-134, expect a highly refreshing saison packed full of fruity, floral and phenolic notes. High levels of carbonation will help enhance the classic, rocky white head. This recipe assumes correct mineral additions for pH calculations, which are not included in the kit. Please purchase these separately.
