Do I need a bottle capper for swing-top bottles?
No. Swing-top bottles close with an attached stopper and wire clip, so they do not need crown caps or a capper. Crown-seal bottles need separate crown caps and a capper to fit them. Choose swing-top bottles if you want to close them by hand; choose crown-seal bottles if you plan to use a capper. Swing-top bottles usually are more expensive per bottle than crown-seal bottles (which you can often get for free by using empty commercial beer bottles).
